The LFG: science in the service of gemstones – high-precision analyses

Conducted using state-of-the-art equipment, our analyses are based on rigorous, accredited protocols and are systematically cross-checked and validated by several gemologists under the supervision of the director and the laboratory manager.

Observation and the combination of various lines of evidence will be decisive: 


1️ the characteristic inclusions found in certain deposits

2️ the spectra (UV-Vis and/or infrared spectroscopy) that help explain, in particular, the causes of color

3️ chemical analyses performed using state-of-the-art equipment



Thus, traditional gemological methods combined with scientific laboratory analyses will make it possible to determine the gem’s geographic origin.
