Management

Aurélien Delaunay

Director

Aurélien holds a Master of Science in Geology and a University Diploma in Gemmology (DUG) from the University of Nantes. Aurélien has been a gemmologist at the LFG since 2011.

He was head of the diamond department from 2011 to 2015 and then laboratory manager from 2015 to 2018. His main area of research is type IIa diamonds, whether natural, synthetic or treated. He is the author of numerous scientific articles on diamonds, coloured stones and pearls.

He has been director of the LFG since 2018, whose primary aim is to remain a major player in gemmological analysis at the service of consumers.

Maud de La Taille

Sales Administration Manager

Maud is the person responsible for managing your files. She will welcome you to the LFG and guide you through the process.

Her experience in jewellery sales and as a sales assistant for a diamond dealer for more than 15 years is put to good use in the development and quality of the LFG.

She joined the LFG in 2011.

Clémence Brahmy-Marty

Sales Administration Assistant

Clémence has a degree in gemmology and experience of selling antique jewellery, Clémence has been working at the LFG since 2023. She is in charge of customers at reception and the administrative follow-up.

Thiala Magalhaes

Analysis Report writer / Photographer

After studying Design in Brazil and working as a graphic designer for some of the world's leading jewellery houses, Thiala joined the LFG in 2022 after obtaining the LFG's gemmology CQP and the FEEG's European diploma. She takes care of photographing your gems and jewellery, as well as writing gemological reports.

Christelle Gliksman

Communication and report writing officer

After 15 years in marketing and business development, Christelle turned to her passion, the world of jewellery. She first got a degree in jewellery making at the Haute Ecole de Joaillerie, followed by the CQP in gemmology from the LFG and the European diploma from the FEEG.

Christelle joined the LFG team in 2024 and is mainly in charge of writing gemological reports and managing communication projects.

Dr. Stefanos Karampelas

Head of Laboratory

Stefanos studied geology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and then obtained his Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in geosciences at the University of Rennes and the University of Nantes on the separation of natural and synthetic amethysts.

He defended his doctoral thesis in 2008 on the detection of pearl processing. He also holds a Diplôme d'Université de Gemmologie (DUG) from the University of Nantes.

He spent seven years as a researcher at the Gübelin Gem Lab in Lucerne (Switzerland), one year at the Gem Research Swisslab (GRS) in Meggen (Switzerland) and three years as research director at DANAT (Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones) in Manama (Bahrain). He joined the LFG in 2021.

Annabelle Herreweghe

Deputy Laboratory Manager

Annabelle is a gemmologist with a Master of Science in Geology and a University Diploma in Gemmology (DUG) from the University of Nantes.

Annabelle is responsible for organising analyses and for analysing mixed diamonds at the LFG. She joined the LFG in 2015.

Bérengère Meslin Sainte Beuve

Gemologists

Bérengère has been a gemmologist at the LFG since 2018. She holds a diploma in gemmologist from the ING and the European diploma from the FEEG. she analyses pearls and diamonds at the LFG.

Ugo Hennebois

Gemmologist

Ugo is a gemmologist, specializing in colored stones. He trained as a jeweler, and holds a brevet professionnel de gemmologie (BP), the Diplôme de gemmologue (AG) from the AIGS in Bangkok and the Diplôme d'Université de Gemmologie de Nantes (DUG).

Ugo strengthened the laboratory team in 2018. Since, he analyses colored gemstones and is responsible for developing the laboratory's reference collection dedicated to the determination of geographical origins.

Valentine Demetz

Gemmologist

Holder of the CQP in gemmology from the LFG, Valentine joined the team in 2022 as administrative assistant, and since 2023 has been in charge of analysing diamonds and meles.

Steven Riou

Gemmologist

Steven holds a Brevet Professionnel in gemmology. Passionate about minerals and gems, he joined the LFG in 2024. He is in charge of analysing coloured stones.

Prof. Emmanuel FRITSCH

Research Partner

He is world-renowned for his work on the origin of colour in gems, the application of spectroscopic methods to gemmological problems, and the interrelationships between gem formation and gem properties. Prof. Emmanuel Fritsch is a gemmologist and professor of physics at the University of Nantes. He has been a scientific advisor to the LFG since 2011.
